Monticello, Florida 10-09-10

Savannah Lee spent the night with us and in the afternoon, she helped her G-Ma make brownies.
Then it was time for swinging with her Papa.
Later, we went down to the lake to feed the fish and turtles.
A little lesson on the proper technique for throwing floating fish food....
 then let her go.
It's a great day when you can spend it with a grandchild!

Tallahassee, Florida 10-09-10

Today was Emily's 9th birthday and she had a party at the dance studio.
Savannah Lee was in her Seminoles cheerleader outfit, much to Lynda's chagrin.
Dillan made his presence known and spent time playing with his G-Ma and his cousin.
Emmie's birthday brownie before everybody dug in.
Of course she had to blow out candles first.
Mike is playing with his video camera with relatives and friends nearby.
You think maybe parents get bored at these types of events?
Hannah is assisting Emmie with opening her presents.
Emmie opens her card from her Papa and G-Ma.  A happy ending to a wonderful day.

Tallahassee, Florida 10-07-10

Today was Papa & granddaughter "quality time" afternoon.
We went to the Tallahassee Museum to learn about animals.
First, we took in the bald eagle exhibit.
Savannah Lee is trying to draw my attention to something she wants me to see.
 "Look Papa, wolf!"
She was really fascinated by the Florida Panther.
The museum is located in a cypress swamp.
Savannah Lee decided to check it out.
She didn't like the looks of this scary alligator.
No, you can't have Papa's camera!
She really thought it was funny when I called these geese over by "honking" at them.
Of course we can't leave without visiting the playground.
I swear, this girl gets the biggest kick out of going down slides.
A little electricity on that slide...ya think?
But it was a blast, just the same, despite having a bad hair day.

Monticello, Florida 10-02-10

After Mike's flag football game this morning, he came out to the house to spend the weekend, so he and his Papa played some soccer in the yard.
Who says the "old man" can't still beat the youngsters?

Tallahassee, Florida 10-02-10

Two of our grandsons, Mike and Neil, play flag football.  Our son Rick, coaches the offense (here with Mike kneeling and Neil next to him).
Our other son, Mike, coaches the defense (with Little Mike in the foreground).
The boys won their game this morning and Mike, who plays quarterback, scored two touchdowns and passed an extra point to his cousin, Neil.

Clearwater, Florida 09-29-10

Waiting to see Crosby, Stills & Nash in concert at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater.
Lynda wore a paisley shirt for the occasion.
The concert was great, with Nash singing a new protest song "In His Name", reminiscent of the 60's.  The only disappointment was they didn't sing my favorite song by them, "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes".  Otherwise, they played every hit song they've had.  Stills can still play a mean lead guitar and Crosby's voice is strong, but he still gets political on stage.

Tallahassee, Florida 09-11-10

Now, it's Dillan's birthday party and everyone is sitting around waiting for it to start.

All the kids are playing on the floor at the studio.

That's a good looking cake!

Dillan's ready to celebrate.

Hannah is well dressed...in FSU attire as the game is going to kick-off shortly.

Ryan always finds a way to make a mess of eating.

Dillan, opening one of his presents.

Savannah Lee is worn down by all the partying!
