Once a year, our church has a father-son campout for a weekend and this year we went to camp Wallwood, a boy scout camp outside of Quincy (west of Tallahassee).
It's rustic and there are hiking trails, shooting range, lake, and just about any activity you can conjure up for camping.
We decided to pitch our tent in Camp Oconee.
It didn't take Papa and his two sons very long to get our tent up.
Nothing like sitting around a fire and chating with friends to pass the afternoon away.
I don't think there has ever been a fire that kids weren't attracted to!
I caught the sun going down over Lake Talquin in the woods behind our tent.
Saturday morning, the boys decided to take the grandsons canoeing out on the lake.
This will be fun boy.....get in.
Yes....three people can fit in a conoe, young man.
All aboard.....time to launch the canoes.
Heading out into open waters.
Maybe a little too close for comfort.
Mike has his sons across the lake.
Rick has his son across the lake, also.
Mike and his boys headed back toward the dock.
Rick stirs up an egret paddling close to shore.
Mike is getting his boys back, fighting a nasty wind.
Rick is having a little more difficulty, getting sideways against the wind.
Mike finally gets his boys in.
Not too much later, Rick gets his son back.
Everything packed up, it's time for Papa, Rick, Neil, Little Mike, Dillan and Big Mike to head for home.
