Tallahassee, Florida 09-11-10

Now, it's Dillan's birthday party and everyone is sitting around waiting for it to start.

All the kids are playing on the floor at the studio.

That's a good looking cake!

Dillan's ready to celebrate.

Hannah is well dressed...in FSU attire as the game is going to kick-off shortly.

Ryan always finds a way to make a mess of eating.

Dillan, opening one of his presents.

Savannah Lee is worn down by all the partying!

We had a program at church where the girls are supposed to bring their fathers to activity day to show them what they have been accomplishing.  Since Rick and Mike had a flag football game that night, I stood in as surrogate father for "my twins", Emily and Melina.

It's Melina's, or Rosie's (as I call her) birthday.  Lori is getting ready to light the candles.

Make a wish and blow them out.

You think this group is ready for cake?

Mike feeds Ryan some cake.

Savannah Lee wants a little love from Ryan while Rick watches.

The "girls" spent the night with us and Lynda had to go to work, but I had the day off.  So, Papa fixed breakfast for "his girls", Emily, Rosie and Auburn.

It is Neil's birthday and Savannah Lee is helping Lynda make some cupcakes.

I guess she decided it was ok for baking.

Melina is playing with her cousin, Ryan and her sister, Savannah Lee.

Neil, opening one of his presents, a dinosaur.

Cupcakes for all!

Papa feeds his two youngest grandchildren, Savannah Lee and Ryan.

Mike took some of the boys at the party, including Neil and Little Mike down to the lake for some fishing.

Caught a bluegill.

Showing off the catch.

Another day at the lake with the grandchildren.

Then, later that afternoon, it's time for Tallahassee Classics baseball.  Can you say that I'm "out in left field"?

Just a bunch of "older" guys who can't give up the youthful love of the game.

I'm digging in to await the next pitch.

Nothing better than getting a hit with a new bat purchased just earlier that week.

Lynda and I had 4 of our grandchildren spend the night, so instead of fixing them dinner....

we decided to take them out for pizza, but first we had to have a "pose" for the camera.

After dinner, it was down to our lake to feed the fish and turtles.

To finish the evening, we laid down on the dock to watch the bats fly over the lake.

Jacksonville, Florida 07-11-10

Just four friends having a seafood dinner on the bay in Jacksonville.
A short walk after dinner to take in the sights.

Sitting in our seats, waiting for a concert to begin.

Yep, we drove to Jacksonville to see Michael Buble in concert.

His opening act was group we had never heard of called Naturally 7.

The have no musical instruments in the band.  They actually "sing" all the instruments to back their singing.  They were incredible.

Michael Buble takes the stage!

He was very personable and talked to the audience, telling stories between songs.

He had an extremely gifted orchestra to back him up.

Here, he gives his orchestra a chance to solo and show what they can do.

He brought Naturally 7 out to join him on this number.

Having left the big stage and moving to the center of the auditorium, he introduces....

the song "Home" which he wrote and performed with a solo guitar.

End of the concert, one of the best I have seen and well worth the trip to Jacksonville.
