Cocoa Beach, Florida 09-21-09

Every year, we spend a week at our time share in Cocoa Beach.  We usually meet our friends, Jim and Angie, to spend some time together.

We are used to seeing sunsets like this while we are there.
This is a cruise ship going out of Port Canaveral as seen from our balcony.
While we were there, a rocket was launched from Cape Canaveral that had some military satellites on board and security was tight.
This was the rocket on the launch pad as seen from our unit.
Here, the rocket has just left the launch pad.
The vapor trail that it leaves is pretty awesome.
One of the main reasons we have a time share here is to go surfing!
We bring our boards with us and get some "quality time" with the Atlantic Ocean.
Time to get wet and catch some waves.
Waiting for the perfect wave.......as usual.
This one looked pretty good.
Caught it!  My form could probably use some improvement....
Sometimes you just have to get a break from the sun.
Lynda Lou is still learning how to surf, but she is catching on quickly as she paddles to catch this wave.
Looks like she got it.
WIPE OUT!!!!
Can you tell how much fun this is?
It's pool time and we really enjoy going down the water slide.
Here we are on our way up.
Whoo Hoo!  Who says people our age can't still have fun?
There is a neighborhood near our time share that has a group of peacocks that roam wild.
You come out of your house and what do you see on your front lawn?
Peacocks..what else?
Playing cards in the condo with Jim....it looks like we're playing another game of "Ken wins".
Angie teaching Lynda how to make jewelry.
What good is a vacation if you can't take a nap while reading a good book?
Every vacation should end with a fabulous sunset.

Our current family.  This includes Hannah, Ryan, Lynda, me, Lori, Mike, Rick, Auburn, Savannah Lee, Neil, Little Mike, Dillan, Melina and Emily.
It seems like Savannah Lee is wondering why Ryan is crying.
Ever wonder why your grandkids are crazy?  Maybe it's because G-ma is their leader!
Time for a walk-a-bout with G-ma.
Our boys have a "thing" for swords.
A good day always ends in a swing!

Apalachicola, Florida 08-15-09

We spent a weekend in Apalachicola to celebrate the birthday of our cruising "buddy" Mark, with his wife, Patty. We stayed at the historic Gibson Inn.

This is the Inn from across the street.

This was our bed inside our room.

Our first night there, we ate at a seafood restaurant on St. George island.

Walking on the beach after dinner.

Mark and Patty wade in.

Nothing like a relaxing evening, reading a book and listening to the iPod on the porch of the Gibson Inn.

Every Summer, Lynda and her sister, Cindy (from Tampa) put on "Camp G-ma" for three days.  Here is Abbey, Dillan, Neil, Allie, Melina, Auburn, Mike and Emily.

Blueberry picking started one of the mornings.

Baking for the girls, especially when it is brownies, is a priority.

Cindy's son Chad is involved in story telling for the kids.

Maybe we have some "mean boys" among our grandsons?

Looks like it's time for a pirate-themed treasure hunt.

Running off to fing hidden treasure.

Apparently, it's not up here.

Pirate buddies!

Maybe the treasure is down by the lake?

Ok....maybe if we put our heads together........

Now it's time for a play.  This play is called "The 3 Little Changhos".

It was tragic, but some of the participants had to die.

As usual, when a play ends, all the participants take a bow.

How about a little pin the treasure on the map?

Later, a game of wiffle ball, using empty milk jugs instead of a plastic ball.

Dillan managed to "sneak" into the pantry to get a snack.

The end of Camp G-ma for one more year.  This picture includes Lynda, her sister, Cindy, Cindy's son Chad, and his girlfriend Sara.
