Cocoa Beach, Florida 10-17-10

Lynda and I went to our time share in Cocoa Beach for a week of R&R.
We stay a the Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort.
It seems like we get to witness several awesome sunsets every time we're there.
This is the main pool at night, very serene.
Here's the water park after closing.
What could Lynda Lou be looking at while talking on her cell phone?
Maybe a U.S. Navy submarine coming into the port.....
or a cruise ship returning from an excursion.
Lynda was able to catch this sunrise from our balcony.
We took daily walks on the beach, which as you can see, weren't very crowded (rough life).
Our friends, Jim and Angie came to stay with us.  This Miami flag was on my truck when we were leaving to visit my mother in West Palm (I wanted to throw up).
Lynda is going through some of my mother's old pictures and scanning them.
Angie, my mom and Jim just sitting and chatting to get caught up.
Me, Lynda, Angie and Jim in front of my mother's house.
Me and my mom.  I just wish I could get down there more often to visit her.
Here I am with my best friend from high school, Jim Warren.  Who would've thought he was a closet Seminole?
Jim and Angie, two of the nicest people you could ever want to meet.
We can't leave West Palm without eating at mine and Jim's favorite place...Bud's Chicken.
Jim hated having to wear this Seminole t-shirt, but he lost a bet when the Noles kicked UM's butt!
Nothing like sitting in a waterfall at the pool back at the resort.
The only thing better is sitting in the waterfall with your baby!
Lynda was the early riser out of our group and caught this sunrise at the beach one morning.
She's getting to be a pretty good photographer.
Sitting around the TV and watching the Hurricanes beat North Carolina Saturday night.
But as we can tell by the drink cup in front of Jim, he's really a Seminole at heart!  End of a fabulous week.

Tallahassee, Florida 10-16-10

What are Neil, Savannah Lee and Rick doing sitting on this bench?
They are watching Auburn play soccer.
Auburn enjoys playing this sport and is good at it.
Papa was on duty and came to watch the game, but Savannah Lee needed some attention, too.
Auburn plays defense occasionally, but usually plays forward.
Game's about over.  Time for Rick to head home and Papa to go back on the street.

Tallahassee, Florida 10-13-10

Another quality "Papa day" with Dillan and Ryan.  We're at the Tallahassee Museum after lunch at Chick-fil-A.
A bald eagle is always impressive and a good way to start a day here.
The wolf exhibit is a must see, also.
It was a warm afternoon and this Florida panther was napping.
The museum sits in a cypress swamp which makes for a nice setting.
 Scary alligator!
 The bears were sleepy, too.
I may be prejudice, but aren't my grandsons cute?
Can't visit the museum without Papa calling the geese by "honking" and getting them to honk back.
 Ryan loves to swing.
Dillan contemplates going down the pole.
Just jump and trust your instincts.
 Oops, rough landing.
That looks like so much fun!

Monticello, Florida 10-09-10

Savannah Lee spent the night with us and in the afternoon, she helped her G-Ma make brownies.
Then it was time for swinging with her Papa.
Later, we went down to the lake to feed the fish and turtles.
A little lesson on the proper technique for throwing floating fish food....
 then let her go.
It's a great day when you can spend it with a grandchild!
