Tallahassee, Florida 05-11-10

Rick and Lori's kids were staying with us so I thought we could take some pictures around dark.

G-ma gets a little quality time with Savannah Lee.

We have an old dead tree that was struck by lightning that the kids love to play in.

After I was through taking pictures, Auburn asked if she could play with my camera and these photos are some she took.

Could it possibly be....her brother is being nice to her?

I guess sometimes siblings can even like each other!

Here's a picture you don't see often.

Auburn caught Rosie acting up.

Then Neil had to get into the action.

Orlando, Florida 05-05-10

EPCOT!

Lynda has always wanted to go to EPCOT, so we went for her birthday.

One of the aspects of EPCOT that stand out immediately is the immaculate grounds.

It's not everyday you can visit a foreign country without leaving Orlando!

You can even eat next to a Mayan pryamid, and a volcano.

Maybe one of my Viking ancestors?

The oriental gardens were magnificant.

We got to see a reproduction of the Chinese Terrocatta Army.

A little patriotism prior to the fourth of July.

Can't visit without shopping.

When in a foreign country............

Another manicured garden.

The gardens are everywhere.

The end of a long hot day, but a very rewarding adventure.

Orlando, Florida 05-04-10

Lynda and I had never been to the Animal Kindgom, so it was high time to check it out.
Preparing for a VERY HOT day at the park.

The tree of life.

Not to worry.....this isn't real :)

How about some bats?

Wouldn't want to run into this thing in the wild!

It was too hot for the tigers, too.

I don't know what kind of bird this is, but it is very colorful.

This guy was BIG and looked VERY mean.

Way too hot, time to call it a day and head back to air conditioning.

Tallahassee, Florida 04-22-10

Picked up the grandsons for a day at the Tallahassee Museum.
Got to see a bald eagle up close.

Deer in their native habitat.

The boys really got a kick out of watching and listening to this turkey.

The otter put on a show for us.

Must have been a little too hot for the panther.

I'd say it looks like they are having fun!

Nothing like a day with Papa checking out live animals.

Can't end the day without some playground time.

And of course....can't leave without some sweets.

Tampa, Florida 04-03-10

Anxious parents and grandparents, waiting for speed skating competition to begin.

Little Mike and his coach, Lee.

Emily and her cousin, Abbey, just horsing around.

Three generations at the rink.

Mike out ahead of his competition.

Grandma and grandson having a great time.

Mike finishes a race that he won.

The proud dad and his "winner".

Another racer on Mike's team, Phillip, with his mother after a race.

Mike with his gold medal.  This was his last racing event as he decided that he was tired of speed skating and has quit the sport.
